What Causes Acne ?
The following are some of the major causes of acne: Overactive Oil Glands: During puberty, various hormonal changes take place. In response to this, the oil glands become overactive, which results in excessive oil that comes out in the form of acne. Blocked Skin Pores: When the skin pores get blocked, the oil is trapped inside resulting in blackheads and whiteheads. Bacterial Activity: When the oil is trapped inside the skin pores, some bacteria are produced which alters the composition of oil and it results in irritation of the skin. Inflammation: When the immune system of the body acts to get rid of various foreign substances such as bacteria, toxins or other irritating substances, it results in acne.
